Portek The Hunter Wind Driven Bird Scarer

A highly effective, life-sized visual deterrent designed to provide realistic protection for crops and property. Constructed from all-steel and weighing 15kg, this full-man-sized silhouette rotates smoothly on ball bearings to mimic human movement in the wind, preventing birds from habituating to a static object.

Dynamic Movement: Mounted on high-quality ball bearings, the life-sized cutout turns easily with even a gentle breeze, ensuring the silhouette is constantly changing its profile to keep birds away.
Robust Stability: Features a heavy-duty tread-in stake and a large anchor plate designed for easy installation in various soil types while maintaining maximum stability during high winds.
Durable Steel Construction: Built to withstand year-round outdoor exposure, this 15kg all-steel unit offers a level of durability and presence that lightweight plastic or kite-based scarers cannot match.
Customisable Realism: The steel surface can be easily repainted with waterproof paint, allowing users to change the "clothing" colors each season to prevent birds from becoming accustomed to a single appearance.
Low Maintenance: Unlike electronic or gas-powered scarers, The Hunter requires no power source or fuel, providing silent and consistent protection using only natural wind energy.

The Hunter Wind-Driven Bird Scarer

The Hunter is a full-scale, man-sized bird scarer designed to provide a realistic and highly effective deterrent for agricultural and horticultural use. Unlike static decoys, this life-sized silhouette utilizes a precision ball-bearing system to move and rotate naturally with the wind. This constant, unpredictable movement mimics human presence, effectively deterring birds from crops, orchards, and sensitive areas.

Key Features

Life-Sized Realism: Standing as a full adult male-sized cutout, its presence provides a far more significant deterrent than small decoys or traditional scarecrows.
Wind-Driven Movement: The silhouette is mounted on high-quality ball bearings, allowing it to turn easily and move gently in the direction of the wind. This dynamic motion prevents birds from becoming accustomed to the deterrent.
Robust All-Steel Construction: Built for the rigors of outdoor use, the 15kg steel frame ensures durability and longevity through multiple growing seasons and varying weather conditions.
Superior Stability: Features a robust tread-in stake and a heavy-duty anchor plate. This design ensures the scarer remains upright and stable even in high-wind environments.
Customizable Design: To maximize effectiveness, the steel surface can be repainted each season. Users can use waterproof paint to change colors or patterns, maintaining the "threat" level and keeping birds guessing.
Ease of Deployment: Despite its size and weight, the tread-in stake system allows for straightforward relocation to different parts of the field as crop protection needs change.

Engineered for Long-Term Field Effectiveness

The Hunter is a primary asset for farmers and estate managers who need a low-maintenance, chemical-free solution for avian pest control. By combining a realistic human profile with natural movement, it targets the instinctual fear response in birds. Its heavy-duty steel build provides a sustainable alternative to lightweight plastic or fabric deterrents that often fail or blow away in harsh conditions.
